The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) mourns the passing of Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, the leading female voice of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, and long-time President of the National Council of Negro Women. She was 98. Dr. Height also served as the 10th national president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., 1947 to 1956.

Marcia Slacum Greene, a dedicated member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and recently, the City Editor of The Washington Post, has lost her year-long battle with pancreatic cancer, the newspaper announced to staff members Jan. 5, 2010.
Greene, a Post editor and reporter for more than 20 years, passed away while at home. More ยป
